Systems Engineer Gloucester - Onsite fulltime Position

Raytheon UK have a full time on-site, permanent opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our team in Gloucester.

We are looking for a talented engineer to be part of IT support team delivering support to engineers and wider business, ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, software, networks, and business‑critical systems.

Your primary role would be to maintain a reliable IT environment and act as a bridge between project and business units via the JIRA Service Desk.

This area of the business provides ISO27001:2022 aligned IT support at scale.

Collaborating with engineers to create, maintain and deliver secure, mission critical systems.

Due to the interesting work we do and the sector this team is working in, we require all candidates to be willing and eligible to hold SC and e DV clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, patching, and updates of the IT estate
  • Conduct regular audits, reports and risk assessments
  • Provide technical support to end users across thin clients, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
  • Manage user accounts, onboard, offboard, manage permissions, and access to internal and external systems
  • Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with your IT projects
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, and asset inventory
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding processes, including device setup and recovery
  • Support meeting rooms, AV equipment, printers, and telephony systems
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues on‑site
  • Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience of maintaining the laptop estate via the endpoint management software
  • Knowledge of networking, including security and IT governance frameworks
  • Working experience with IT project delivery
  • Administration of Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
  • Power Shell script writing and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and mac OS
  • Prior experience with working independently on‑site with minimal supervision
  • Additional Skills and Experience
  • Comp TIA Network+, ITIL 4, ISO27001 or similar certification
