About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a SCM & Subcontracts specialist to drive execution and innovative commercial solutions across existing and new business requirements in Cyber & Intelligence and Space & ISR. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Contracts & Subcontracts, you will influence mission‑critical outcomes while collaborating with cross‑functional teams at the forefront of national security.

Responsibilities

  • Manage subcontractors/suppliers with moderately sized contracts with minimal oversight, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Participate in development of supplier Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Perform or support cost and price analysis.
  • Manage small projects or subcontracting processes with autonomy and accountability for delivery.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of subcontracting practices to solve difficult and occasionally complex problems across multiple work areas.
  • Management and negotiation of contracts, non‑disclosure agreements and terms and conditions.
  • Ensure quality and consistency in subcontract execution.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, to align on policies, practices and procedures.
  • Influence operational decisions and contribute to the development and enhancement of subcontracting processes and systems.
  • Deliver day‑to‑day objectives that have a significant impact on operational results within the programme.
  • Utilise project management skills and techniques when managing suppliers.
  • Evaluate challenges faced by the programme(s)/organisation and the supply chains and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
  • Actively promote the contributions that the function can make to achieving corporate objectives across the organisation, with stakeholders and with the supply chain.
  • Manage all costs, quality, schedule, financial and technical performance requirements that are levied on the subcontractor or the product family and ensure performance and support of the contract milestones of the system.
  • Work with suppliers and other stakeholders to achieve collaborative partnering and strategic relationship management to deliver value for the organisation.
  • Responsible for early subcontractor identification and engagement to support new business pursuits and provide risk and opportunity analysis for early capture.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience negotiating commercial and subcontract agreements in Defence or Cyber sectors.
  • Degree in business or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong communicator with a proactive, adaptable mindset.
  • Financial acumen with the ability to translate programme data into actionable insights.
  • Track record of driving performance and solving complex problems.
  • Skilled in managing supplier and subcontractor relationships.
  • Desirable: Focused on outcomes, delivery, and operational excellence.
  • Desirable: Exposure to international suppliers and collaborative delivery models.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Teaming Agreements and strategic partnerships.
