Raytheon UK has an excellent opportunity for a Production Team Leader (FTC) to join our team in Glenrothes.

This is an exciting Fixed Term Contract opportunity for a Production Team Leader to lead our production associates team in building and testing high quality electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, achieving output, quality and safety targets.

As Team Lead you will work onsite largely at our Glenrothes site, however there may be travel if business requires to our Livingston site and due to the work we do you will be required to be eligible and willing to proceed with BPSS clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a production team (15+ across multiple shifts) to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.
  • Coordinate daily production activities, chair shift start‑up meetings, and ensure effective shift handovers.
  • Monitor production metrics, equipment downtime, WIP, material availability, and inventory accuracy to support operational efficiency and target achievement.
  • Allocate resources and manage workflow to meet production schedules in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and work closely with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Materials teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Ensure compliance with work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Own and promote Health & Safety and 5S standards across the production area.
  • Manage team performance, attendance, training, cross‑skilling, overtime, and timesheet approvals.

Required Skills & Experience

  • SVQ Level 4 in Operational Management or equivalent qualification or a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • IT literate – Microsoft Office skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Electronics / electro‑mechanical production experience.
  • Good persuasion / negotiation skills.
  • Clinical decision making, demonstrating authority.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • A highly effective, disciplined and determined approach.
  • Experience in using SAP / shop floor control systems.
