About the role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Manufacturing team in Livingston. Raytheon UK are looking for a Mechanical Biased Engineering Technician to support key manufacturing projects and showcase practical mechanical engineering skills. This role will support the team by bridging the gap between production and the manufacturing engineering team. Experience within a manufacturing environment is required for this role. This is an opportunity to grow your Manufacturing Engineering career - opportunities for training, career development and to get involved with the wider teams through a range of STEM and volunteering activities.
Skills and Experience
- Desirable: HNC/HND/degree in a Mechanical Engineering or similar subject e.g. Manufacturing Engineering.
- Key skills include SAP & MES systems (e.g. Visiprise).
- Ideally you will have experience in a similar role or Manufacturing/Engineering/Defence/Mechanical company background.
Responsibilities
- First line of support to assist the lead Manufacturing Engineer.
- Create and maintain standard rework routers and Temporary Work Instructions (TWIs) & raise appropriate rework routers for units.
- Maintain and improve Manufacturing specifications for compliance and supporting associates.
- Support production line and deal with queries.
- New process development and key involvement in New Complex Mechanical products heading towards development.
- Metrics, root cause and corrective action as required.
- Follow all Environmental Health & Safety requirements.
- Support team in PRB activities and other quality investigations.
- Assist in the set up and operation of the manufacturing layout.
- Review manufacturing performance metrics and report any anomalies or trends and determine root cause and corrective & preventative actions.
- Demonstrate practical mechanical engineering skills.
