The Raytheon UK Weapons Business has a fantastic opening for a new Project Manager (PM) to deliver a complex, high‑profile project for one of its key customers. This role provides an opportunity to manage a maritime, product‑based project and further develop skills with an eye toward career progression within the wider business.

Main Duties

  • Lead and manage a complex bid, from opportunity shaping and proposal development to contract award and mobilisation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure a compelling and compliant proposal, and a plan for integrated delivery and seamless execution across all project elements.
  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support a shared project vision.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and flawless execution.
  • Manage bid/project performance against agreed milestones, KPIs, and contractual deliverables.
  • Own the proposal budget and ensure financial targets and customer commitments are consistently met.
  • Identify and mitigate risks while actively capturing and exploiting opportunities to enhance bid/project outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with Defence Standards, security protocols, and governance requirements.
  • Ensure applicable export licences are obtained.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in competitive bids, delivering proposals and transitioning them into a delivery programme.
  • Delivering time‑critical proposals and projects.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders and technical experts.
  • Create and maintain momentum in a project.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and governance frameworks.

  • Experience delivering programmes within the maritime or wider defence domain.
  • Experience in agile delivery approaches within defence engineering programmes.
  • Defence Prime or Ministry of Defence (MoD) customer experience.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
  • Eligibility to work on government and defence‑related contracts.
