We are currently on the lookout for a Project Manager to join the team in Leighton Buzzard, leading new galley projects for one of the most modern passenger aircraft, the Airbus A350 XWB.
We are a flexible working employer and welcome the opportunity to discuss flexibility requirements with our applicants. This role is a hybrid opportunity that will require you to be on-site for minimum of 3 days a week.
What you will do
- Working closely with the Programme Manager to support and contribute towards the success of the galley programme via the efficient and effective execution of various finite airline projects
- This is a highly collaborative role so will be working with numerous stakeholders and customers. To act as the key focal point for both customer (OEM) and internal functions on specific work packages
- Work within an IPT environment (Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Commercial…) to ensure that the projects under your responsibility are resourced appropriately.
- Create and execute project plans, including revisions where necessary to meet changing needs and requirements. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
- Managing the day-to-day aspects of projects and keeping them rolling forward to meet agreed timelines. Pro-actively manage and track changes in project scope.
- Project documentation must be accurate and to be kept up to date.
- Working with and managing a core PM team
Qualifications we prefer
- Educated to Degree level in a STEM discipline.
- Strong project management skills and experience ideally in complex projects in a matrix environment.
- Proven experience in Project Management, ideally within a manufacturing environment demonstrating a minimum of two years.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite, Project and JDE/SAP)
- Commercial knowledge/awareness and a strong focus on the delivery of objectives
- Good planning skills (Microsoft Project or Primavera)
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management and Product Lifecycle – PDR, CDR, FAI.
- Is a change agent to drive continuous improvements in a highly challenging environment
- Customer exposure experience
