The role is responsible for supporting the Financial Controller in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing effective financial support to the wider business. The position will oversee key operational finance activities, including accounts payable oversight, treasury management, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit support, while acting as a trusted business partner across multiple functions. The role also plays a key part in responding to corporate and stakeholder queries and contributing to management and executive reporting.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Manage outsourced Accounts Payable function whilst mentoring the Industrial placement student with AP admin duties.
  • Manage local Treasury duties – daily review of Bank Accounts and Bank Reconciliations on a mid-month and month end basis.
  • Business partnering across various functions to identify and recommend solutions to root cause issues.
  • Recharge of Salary, expenses and other costs on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, financial analysis and commentary.
  • Assist Financial Controller with month end deliverables including Intercompany reconciliations.
  • Vendor Management – manage and support the end-to-end onboarding of new vendors through SAP Ariba, ensuring bank call-backs, screening, and validation controls are completed in line with company policy.
  • Support Financial Controller with ensuring company policies are being adhered to and internal control systems are maintained.
  • Assist Financial Controller with internal and external audits. Take a lead on closing internal audit findings where required.
  • Support the Financial Controller by taking the initiative with answering queries from Pratt & Whitney Corporate and RTX.
  • Assist with statutory tax submissions and other returns.
  • Prepare finance segments on the OPR Pack for Executive Board review.
  • Cash flow forecasting.
  • Communication and business partnering – P2P, Ariba, Vendor Masterdata, Bank, Citibank.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualified in ACCA or CIMA.
  • Experience with working in a fast paced business environment.
  • Strong technical accounting ability.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP is advantageous) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
