Based on site in Marston Green, Birmingham we have an exciting opportunity for an Electronic Technical Support Engineer to join and be part of a team that’s powering the future of aerospace. We are the UTAS Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) UK facility in Marston Green, specialising in advanced technical support for Electronic Engine Control units used across the aerospace industry. Our team plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety and performance of aviation systems worldwide. What You Will Do
- Developing and managing detailed investigation plans for Electronic Engine Control units removed from service
- Producing comprehensive investigation reports linking in‑service failures with MRO findings, identifying likely failure modes, root causes and corrective actions
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation across repair, test and diagnostic processes
- Providing hands‑on engineering support to repair technicians, including component‑level diagnostics
- Designing and improving diagnostic tools to resolve test failures
- Training technicians in diagnostic tool usage
- Managing technical and procedural changes within the business
- Delivering technical support to customers, Original Equipment Manufacturers and internal teams
- Supporting the global Engine Control Services repair network
- Managing component obsolescence and supporting cost‑reduction initiatives
- Contributing to continuous improvement of repair processes
- Ensuring full compliance with EH&S policies and all regulatory requirements

Qualifications We Prefer
- HNC/HND/Degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent relevant experience)
- Experience with analogue and digital electronic design
- Background in aerospace or a similar high reliability industry
- Understanding of aircraft and engine systems
- Familiarity with automated and functional test equipment
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Proven ability to diagnose technical issues and deliver practical solutions
