Chief Financial Officer | Yorkshire
Significant six-figure salary + bonus + executive benefits
I am delighted to have been appointed to lead the search for a CFO for a Yorkshire-based business that is a national market leader in its field. This is a classic high challenge, high reward opportunity. The business has a strong heritage, solid financial foundations and a proven platform from which to strengthen and grow.
There is an experienced and ambitious Board with a shared vision for the next phase, alongside supportive external stakeholders with both the expertise and capital to help deliver those plans. What makes the opportunity particularly compelling is that this is not a role simply to maintain what already exists. The incoming CFO will have the opportunity to make a visible impact, bringing commercial leadership, challenge and financial rigour to a successful business as it moves through an important stage of its development.
This is a genuine number two to the CEO role. The CFO will combine strategic leadership with a highly commercial and hands-on approach, taking ownership of the finance function while playing a central role in:
- Partnering with the CEO and Board to shape and deliver strategy
- Managing a leveraged capital structure, lender relationships and covenants
- Driving cash, working capital and profit performance
- Working closely with investors
- Ultimately helping to prepare the business for a future exit
We are looking for an established CFO rather than someone making their first move into the role. You will have operated within a business of comparable scale and complexity and will be comfortable working in a lean, entrepreneurial environment. Experience of leveraged or investor-backed businesses, asset-based lending, M&A or an exit process would be particularly relevant. Sector experience is less important than your ability to operate in a commercially complex, multi-site environment.
