An established and growing business within the wider construction sector is seeking an experienced qualified Management Accountant to join the finance team on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is able to quickly take ownership of core financial processes, allowing senior stakeholders to focus on wider strategic priorities.

The role:

  • Reporting into senior finance leadership, responsibilities are likely to include:
  • Preparing and maintaining short and medium-term cash flow forecasts
  • Reviewing and supporting the submission of VAT returns
  • Reviewing CIS returns and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
  • Assisting with the production of monthly management information
  • Supporting month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Identifying opportunities to improve existing financial processes and controls
  • Providing ad hoc financial analysis and support across the wider finance function

About you:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Previous experience operating at Management Accountant level within a busy finance environment
  • Comfortable working independently and able to hit the ground running
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive, hands-on approach
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience within construction, housebuilding or a project-based environment would be highly advantageous, although this is not essential

The company offers a competitive salary, minimum 6 months with a chance to extend and hybrid working.
