An established and growing business within the wider construction sector is seeking an experienced qualified Management Accountant to join the finance team on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is able to quickly take ownership of core financial processes, allowing senior stakeholders to focus on wider strategic priorities.
The role:
- Reporting into senior finance leadership, responsibilities are likely to include:
- Preparing and maintaining short and medium-term cash flow forecasts
- Reviewing and supporting the submission of VAT returns
- Reviewing CIS returns and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
- Assisting with the production of monthly management information
- Supporting month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
- Identifying opportunities to improve existing financial processes and controls
- Providing ad hoc financial analysis and support across the wider finance function
About you:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Previous experience operating at Management Accountant level within a busy finance environment
- Comfortable working independently and able to hit the ground running
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, hands-on approach
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience within construction, housebuilding or a project-based environment would be highly advantageous, although this is not essential
