Interim Head of Finance β Sheffield
Immediate Start | Site-based | Interim (3β6 months, subject to extension)
About the Role
Weβre partnering with a high-growth, investment-driven business in Sheffield seeking an Interim Head of Finance to take charge of the finance function during a critical growth phase. You will report directly to the CFO and act as a strategic and operational finance leader, embedding structure, delivering clarity and supporting key investment decisions across the business.
This is a hands-on leadership position, ideal for a seasoned finance professional comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership

Support the CFO in defining and executing financial strategy aligned with growth and profitability goals

Collaborate with the senior leadership team to deliver company-wide strategic objectives

Lead investment modelling, CAPEX planning and financial evaluation of new initiatives
Financial Planning & Analysis

Full ownership of P&L (costs & EBITDA)

Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling; provide insights to business leaders

Partner with department heads to understand, manage and optimise costs
Operational Finance & Reporting

Manage working capital, cashflow forecasting, and group reporting

Produce accurate monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts, KPI dashboards and cashflow reports

Develop tools and reporting infrastructure for covenant and funding management
Team & Controls

Lead and mentor a finance team of ~5 (including the Financial Controller)

Maintain strong financial controls, compliance with UK GAAP & IFRS, and coordinate internal / external audits

Oversee tax compliance and reporting
Systems & Processes

Lead evaluation and improvement of financial systems, processes and controls

Prepare for a planned ERP upgrade to SAP (expected 2026/27) and align current systems to support scalability
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
-
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified

Strong technical accounting knowledge, experience with IFRS and UK GAAP

Prior experience in a senior finance leadership role (Head of Finance, Finance Director, or equivalent)

Proven track record in process improvement and driving change

Strong commercial and analytical acumen

Excellent communication skills, able to engage with finance and non-finance stakeholders

Ability to lead, inspire and deliver results through a small team
