Job Description

Interim Finance ManagerFull /part-time, interim contract – South Yorkshire – Immediate start

We are working with a highly successful, privately-owned retail and leisure business that is seeking an Interim Finance Manager to support the company through its busiest trading period. This role has become available due to sick leave within the leadership team and requires someone confident in managing a small finance function day-to-day.

The RoleReporting to senior management, you will be responsible for ensuring strong financial control and accurate reporting across a multi-income stream business. Key duties include:

  • Managing and supporting the small finance team (including purchase ledger clerks).

  • Overseeing daily reconciliations of tills and ensuring takings are correctly uploaded from EPOS to Sage 50.

  • Managing cash flow, weekly cash balances, and bank reconciliations.

  • VAT returns and compliance.

  • Monitoring stock through the EPOS system.

  • Expense management and financial reporting.

The PersonWe are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager or Financial Controller who has strong experience in managing finance within a fast-paced retail or leisure environment. A qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is an advantage but not essential – experience and practical capability are more important.

You should be confident with Sage 50, cash management, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Experience of managing small finance teams is also important.
