Site Hygiene Manager - site in the Scarborough area, managing a team of 15. Monday - Friday day time hours, no shifts.
Responsible for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and food safety are maintained across the site environment. This is a critical role in the team - protecting product integrity, maintaining a clean production environment, and supporting operations.
Lead and manage the Hygiene Team, ensuring all cleaning operations support safe food production, comply with company policies and meet all regulatory requirements.
Duties are split between:
- Food Safety/Hygiene Compliance
- Ensure all hygiene activities are conducted safely and in line with H&S regulations, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards including HACCP, BRCGS and Company policies.
- Ensure risk assessments and COSHH assessments are followed.
- Support the Technical Team in maintaining high food safety standards and audit readiness.
- Investigate hygiene related non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Process Management
- Manage and coordinate all hygiene and cleaning activities across site, conducting regular inspections to verify effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee waste management on site.
- Develop, implement and maintain effective cleaning schedules for all areas of the factory.
- Co-ordinate deep cleans and shutdown cleaning activities.
- Respond to audit reports, putting corrective and preventative actions in place.
- Site lead for pest control management.
- Leadership
- Lead, supervise and develop the Hygiene Team - conducting performance reviews, disciplinaries and coaching/training.
- Plan staffing levels to ensure adequate cover for cleaning operations.
The Person:
- 3 years' experience within a management/leadership/supervisory role required.
- Experience of hygiene/food safety in a food production environment required.
- Level 3 Food safety HACCP Level 3 required.
- COSHH - knowledge of chemical handling and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of hygiene protocols and food safety standards.
