A highly acquisitive and growing business near Pocklington have a newly created role for a Financial Controller. Reporting to the Divisional Finance Director, this is a position that combines strategic influence with day-to-day ownership of the finance department. It's an exceptional opportunity for a confident, proactive finance professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and improving processes.
- Act as the lead finance business partner for the division, providing challenge, insight, and support to the Divisional Managing Director and Finance Director.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team of 3.
- Take ownership of the division's full financial cycle, from month-end reporting and board packs through to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision support.
- Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful management accounts each month, with clear commentary and recommendations.
- Prepare monthly board packs, ensuring key financial and operational metrics are presented in a way that drives action.
- Prepare the annual budgeting and rolling forecasting processes for the division.
- Strengthen and formalise financial controls, processes, and reporting standards across the division.
You will be; ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with post-qualified experience in a management role. Proven ability to produce and present high-quality management information and board packs. Advanced Excel skills and strong experience with accounting or modern ERP systems. Excellent communicator with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insight for non-financial colleagues.
