Pratap Executive are working with a successful, established and multi-site UK business to recruit a Finance Director. This is a key Board level appointment, working closely with the Managing Director and wider senior leadership team, with responsibility for the full finance function and a broader remit across commercial performance, strategy and future growth. The business operates across multiple locations and is part of a larger international group, giving the role a good balance of autonomy in the UK alongside exposure to an overseas parent organisation. The Finance Director will also play an active role in M&A activity and work closely with senior stakeholders across the wider Group.
The role will include:
- Leading and developing the finance function and team
- Working closely with the Managing Director as a key commercial and strategic partner
- Ownership of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and statutory reporting
- Leadership of cash flow, treasury and working capital, including inventory
- Providing clear insight into business performance and identifying actions where performance varies from plan
- Supporting M&A activity, including due diligence and negotiation
- Developing the quality of MI and decision support across the business
- Oversight of IT and continued improvement of systems and processes
- Managing key external relationships including investors, lenders, auditors and advisers
- Building strong relationships with the international Group finance team
We are looking for a qualified accountant who has already operated in a senior finance leadership role within a multi-site environment. Experience within a Private Equity backed business is important, alongside a track record of building and developing high performing finance teams. The successful individual will combine strong financial control with commercial judgement and the ability to operate comfortably across a business. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can influence at Board level while remaining close to the detail and to operational and commercial teams. The role is based in North Yorkshire and will involve travel across the UK together with some international travel.
