Compliance & Enforcement Officer, Boston

Monday - Friday
Includes travel to local sites across the region - full driving license required. Includes car allowance.
A respected public sector organisation responsible for managing critical infrastructure, environmental assets and flood risk across a significant operational area.
The role:
To help strengthen governance, regulatory compliance, risk management and organisational assurance, working as part of a small close-knit team with regular interaction with members of the public.
Responsibilities:
Enforcing land drainage laws and byelaws - ensuring members of the public and commercial organisations have completed relevant permission for their development/activity
Managing the consent process for members or the public and commercial planning applications, according to land drainage and town planning acts
Ensuring the organisation adheres to the relevant governance and policies
Administering policies, background paperwork, and health and safety compliance of the organisation's activities.
Working in a methodical and process-driven manner, following internal controls and external regulatory controls
Required experience:
Experience in some sort of public-facing enforcement role such as housing, construction, planning, HSE, audit, food safety or environmental is desirable
Experience working in a heavily regulated environment/industry
Compliance monitoring or policy adherence monitoring experience, ideally within planning regulations
A good understanding of health & safety and safe working practices, especially on construction sites or land development sites
Sector background within local government, infrastructure, utilities, environmental services, housing, engineering or other regulated sectors is helpful
