Pratap Partnership is supporting a historic law firm with their recruitment of a Legal Cashier, replacing a long-standing member of staff who is retiring.
The opportunity
You will play an important part in the day-to-day accounts function, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and financial records are maintained in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Recording financial transactions and maintaining accurate ledgers.
• Monitoring incoming client funds and allocating receipts to the correct files.
• Preparing and processing electronic payments, transfers and cheques.
• Checking and processing bills, conveyancing completion statements and probate estates.
• Preparing conveyancing completions for completion day.
• Responding to accounts enquiries from colleagues across the firm.
• Supporting petty cash, file closures and general accounts administration.
About you
You will have previous legal accounts experience, a sound understanding of bookkeeping and awareness of SRA Accounts Rules.
Accuracy, discretion and reliability are essential, alongside confidence using accounts systems and spreadsheets. You will be comfortable managing priorities, working with minimal supervision and building relationships with colleagues.
A legal cashier qualification would be an advantage.
