The Operational Support Engineer is a hands-on operational role responsible for supporting production, assembly, inspection, repair, and refurbishment activities across Pramac Generac UK. The role will work across multiple product lines including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Tower Lights, and Materials Handling Equipment (MHE), ensuring equipment is built, prepared, inspected, and released to the highest quality and safety standards. The role will also support inventory control and stock accuracy, working closely with Operations, Service, and Logistics teams to ensure efficient throughput, reduced rework, and right-first-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Production & Assembly Support: Support production and assembly activities across applicable product lines. Carry out MHE assembly and preparation in line with build specifications and quality standards. Assist with production workflow to support on-time delivery and operational efficiency. Identify and report build issues, quality concerns, or improvement opportunities.
- PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection): Carry out BESS PDI activities in line with technical checklists, safety standards, and commissioning requirements. Complete Tower Lights PDI, ensuring units are fully prepared, tested, and ready for customer delivery. Accurately complete all PDI documentation and quality records. Escalate defects, non-conformances, or technical concerns through the appropriate channels.
- Repair & Refurbishment: Carry out repair and refurbishment work on returned or used equipment, including BESS and Tower Lights. Diagnose basic faults and carry out corrective actions within capability and authority. Prepare refurbished equipment to agreed quality and safety standards for resale or redeployment. Support continuous improvement by feeding back recurring issues or failure trends.
- Inventory & Stock Support: Assist with inventory checks, cycle counts, and stock accuracy activities. Support goods-in inspection and reporting of damaged or incorrect items. Work with Operations and Parts teams to ensure accurate recording and control of stock movements. Help reduce stock discrepancies, write-offs, and operational delays.
- Health, Safety & Quality: Work in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment. Follow defined quality processes and safe systems of work. Report hazards, near misses, and safety concerns promptly.
