Position Profile: The Classroom Intervention Facilitator (CLIF) will primarily focus on providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 behaviour interventions, within the Interventions Together framework, in classrooms that require additional support. The facilitator will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, Educational Assistants (EAs), and students to promote positive behaviour, and enhance student independence. The goal is to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment where students are empowered to thrive academically and socially.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work primarily within a classroom environment to support the Interventions Together (RtI) framework focused on developing, implementing and monitoring interventions and strategies that meet the social, emotional, behavioural and learning needs of students.
- Build the capacity of teachers, support staff, and administrators using a variety of proactive, innovative and effective professional development delivery techniques, including in‑class modeling, collegial mentoring and coaching, professional reference materials and presentations at professional learning events.
- Promote positive staff‑student relationships through coaching in classroom management and de‑escalation techniques.
- Foster student independence by teaching self‑regulation and coping strategies.
- Assess individual needs and collaborate with teachers, EAs, and support staff to create and implement intervention plans.
- Train, coach, and collaborate with staff and school leadership to track and review student progress, including behaviour data and intervention effectiveness.
- Stay current with research and share relevant resources with staff.
- Perform other duties as may be required or assigned by the Student Services Coordinator.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Expertise in planning, implementing and monitoring student‑specific interventions.
- Ability to work in an interdependent team environment, seek and attend to feedback, and generate high‑quality work.
- Ability to motivate others to implement innovative instructional practices that respond to the needs of every student.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours while maintaining a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
- Proficient knowledge of Response to Intervention Framework and Positive Behaviour Intervention Supports.
- Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education Degree
- Valid Saskatchewan Professional Teacher certificate
- Master's Degree in a related field
- Minimum five years of teaching experience
- Specialization in special education or inclusive education
This position is based out of the Education Centre or an assigned school location as mutually determined between the incumbent and the school division. Travel within the division is required; system fleet vehicles are available or mileage is paid for use of a personal vehicle. The successful candidate will receive a 10% allowance, in addition to their regular salary, as per the LINC Agreement. The Division supports the principles of a representative workforce and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.
