About the Company

This purpose-driven environmental consultancy is working at the cutting edge of the UK’s nature recovery and sustainability transition. They help landowners, local authorities, institutions, and investors design and deliver strategies that are both ecologically credible and commercially sound. Their mission? To unlock value through biodiversity, natural capital, and regenerative systems — helping to shape the markets and landscapes of the future.

The Role

You’ll support the delivery of consultancy and innovation projects spanning nature markets, natural capital assessment, nature-based solutions, and green investment. This is a flexible, fixed-term position that’s perfect for someone ready to apply their analytical and technical skills in a fast-moving, mission-led environment.

You’ll get involved in:

  • Research & Analysis – assessing carbon, biodiversity net gain, nutrient neutrality, and natural flood management opportunities.
  • GIS & Mapping Support – producing spatial analyses, ecological baselines, and land-use assessments (QGIS, ArcGIS or similar).
  • Market & Policy Intelligence – contributing to work on environmental finance, regulatory trends, and nature market innovation.
  • Reporting & Communication – preparing reports, proposals, and presentations, and client interaction and workshops.
  • Project Coordination – supporting meetings, tracking actions, and sharing insights across the team.

As you grow, there’s real scope to take ownership of defined workstreams and develop your own area of expertise.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Proven research and analytical skills (ideally in environmental, economic, or land-use contexts).
  • Some experience using GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS, or similar).
  • Strong written and verbal communication — clear, structured, and concise.
  • Familiarity with nature-based solutions, biodiversity, and/or green finance.
  • Reliable, organised, and proactive — happy juggling varied priorities.
  • A genuine commitment to environmental regeneration and systems change.

Desirable

  • Academic background in ecology, environmental economics, geography, or natural resource management.
  • Understanding of UK nature markets (BNG, carbon codes, nutrient neutrality, natural flood management).
  • Experience engaging with landowners, local authorities, NGOs, or nature recovery projects.
  • Awareness of the UK’s environmental data and mapping platforms (e.g. Magic Map, UKHab, Defra datasets).

What’s on Offer

  • A flexible, supportive environment — remote-first, with collaborative time in London co-working spaces and countryside site visits.
  • Work on high-impact, cross-sector projects with experienced leaders in ecology, strategy, and green finance.
  • Mentorship and growth opportunities in emerging areas like nature finance, NbS, and regenerative land strategy.
  • A collaborative and entrepreneurial culture focused on impact and systems change.
  • Competitive salary (based on experience) and potential for longer-term development within the organisation.
  • They’re also developing an employee share option scheme for permanent team members.
