Overview
Pragmatic Semiconductor is revolutionising semiconductor fabrication with flexible integrated circuit (FlexIC) technology that makes it quick and easy to embed intelligence almost anywhere. Using thin-film transistor (TFT) technology in combination with conventional semiconductor processing equipment, Pragmatic FlexIC Foundry service takes FlexICs from tape-out to delivery in around six weeks, enabling agile iterations, early end-user testing, and an accelerated time to market – at a fraction of the cost of silicon.
As the Characterisation Manager you will lead the characterisation efforts on Pragmatic Semiconductor’s FlexIC products. This involves managing a small, highly skilled team of engineers who are focused on the development of automated, volume test solutions. Working with colleagues from the adjacent Device and IC Validation teams, the role is centred around the development, execution and optimisation of wafer-level Characterisation test cases and the presentation of Characterisation data to project stakeholders. The successful applicant will lead and manage this function, dealing with cross-business stakeholders from project inception and planning to transfer to production and beyond.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Management of a Small Engineering Team – managing and technically leading a team of highly-skilled engineers, managing complex technical deliverables and test case development, execution and data reporting.
- RF/Analogue Test Design and Implementation – working with internal stakeholders to provide key input to production test system design. RF/Analogue skills are also useful for the analysis of some of the measurement data which the team generates.
- Automation Hardware/Software – both managing and working technically on the automation of test cases and their integration into Pragmatic’s systems.
- Communication with Varied Stakeholders – communicating with and working alongside a variety of stakeholders at Pragmatic with the requirement to partner with and present information to technical and non-technical partners from all areas.
Qualifications and Training
- A degree in a relevant engineering or scientific subject, or equivalent career experience.
- Demonstrable Management training or experience with working knowledge of time management, project management, resource management, people management and equity, diversity and inclusion concepts.
- Evidence that you have actively developed your skillset during your career to date.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience in test engineering with demonstrable, practical experience of designing and implementing test cases in a hardware environment.
- RF/Analogue electronics knowledge with demonstrable practical experience of applying that knowledge to solve engineering problems.
- Experience of software automation of test with practical experience in at least one common programming language. E.g Python, Labview, C#, C++
- Experience of data analysis and presentation, with examples of where this has been applied to real-world engineering problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of partners.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience of software development lifecycle and tools, with experience of working with or as part of Scrum teams.
- Experience of reviewing hardware designs for volume test environments
- At least three years’ experience of managing a small team, having managed the team through multiple review and goal-setting cycles.
Pragmatic Semiconductor is committed to equity, equality, diversity, and inclusion; we strive to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams.
