We are seeking a Test Assurance Manager to lead the coordination, governance, and reporting of all post-development testing activities across complex projects and deliverables. This role does not replace existing QA leadership but works alongside QA and delivery teams to ensure that all testing phases—UAT, smoke testing, regression, performance, and security—are properly planned, resourced, executed, and reported. The role is focused on end-to-end test assurance, visibility, and stakeholder alignment, ensuring confidence in release readiness across the organisation and with external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Assurance & Strategy Alignment
- Define and maintain overarching test assurance frameworks across projects
- Build on existing QA and UAT plans to ensure full coverage across all testing phases
- Ensure inclusion of functional, non-functional, and specialist testing (performance, penetration, etc.)
- Validate that appropriate entry/exit criteria and success metrics are in place
- Planning & Coordination
- Consolidate testing plans across QA, UAT, and third-party providers into a single, cohesive view
- Identify gaps in coverage, risks, and dependencies across testing phases
- Ensure all required environments, data, and resources are in place for testing execution
- Identify when specialist testing support is required (e.g., performance, security)
- Coordinate with internal QA teams and external vendors to ensure delivery against plans
- Provide oversight rather than direct line management of QA execution teams
- UAT & Business Engagement
- Support and structure UAT processes in collaboration with business stakeholders
- Ensure clear test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and sign-off processes
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and business users during validation phases
- Defect & Quality Reporting
- Oversee defect tracking, triage alignment, and resolution progress
- Track and communicate defect burn-down, risk areas, and quality trends
- Provide clear, consolidated reporting across all testing streams
- Governance & Stakeholder Communication
- Produce regular test assurance reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders
- Provide visibility of testing progress, risks, and release readiness
- Support go/no-go decisions with data-driven insights
- Identify gaps and inefficiencies in current QA/UAT processes
- Recommend improvements to testing frameworks, governance, and reporting
- Drive consistency and scalability across projects
Required Experience & Skills:
- 7–10+ years experience in QA, testing, or quality assurance roles
- Proven experience in test coordination, assurance, or program-level QA oversight
- UAT processes and business validation
- End-to-end testing lifecycle (post-development focus)
- Performance and security testing concepts
- Experience working across multiple teams and vendors without direct authority
- Strong reporting, governance, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate technical testing status into clear business insights
Key Relationships:
- QA Manager (primary partner role)
- Product & Delivery teams
- Business stakeholders (UAT participants)
- External testing vendors and partners
Success Measures:
- Clear, consolidated visibility of all testing activities across projects
- Effective identification and mitigation of testing risks
- High-quality, business-ready releases with strong stakeholder confidence
- Improved alignment between QA, UAT, and business validation processes
- Consistent and reliable reporting for internal and external audiences
