We have an excellent opportunity for a Test Technician to join our team in Durham! Reporting to the Test Supervisor and working on a continental shift pattern, you will be joining a collaborative and supportive team during an exciting period of growth at the company, as we continue to scale and move into high-volume manufacturing.
You will be responsible for managing wafer Test processing and Test report generation, and determining whether Test processes have been successfully completed or whether re-testing/post-processing intervention is required. You will work in accordance with OCAPs and SOPs for routine process and tool troubleshooting, as well as processing wafers and lots through our MES; providing detailed reporting of lot issues and documenting corrective actions taken.
We are looking for candidates with high levels of organisation and attention to detail, as well as computer literacy. As you will collaborate closely with various teams in our Operations group, we are seeking excellent communication skills to ensure efficient handovers. Please note, we will not be able to offer Visa sponsorship for this position; therefore candidates will be required to demonstrate evidence of right to live and work in the UK (and be based at our manufacturing site in Durham).
Key tasks- Set up probe testing for new reticles, including probe card and cabling installation, recipe selection, wafer and probe card inspection (including vendor incoming inspection), and alignment.
- Ensure probe tester setups are fit for purpose prior to testing.
- Process wafers and lots through Test in an efficient and timely manner.
- Assess Test data prior to publication to confirm testing has been performed correctly and results are valid.
- Determine whether Test processes have been successful or if re-Test or post-processing intervention is required.
- Use OCAPs and SOPs for basic process and tool troubleshooting and issue escalation.
- Generate clear and detailed technical reports where issues cannot be immediately resolved.
- Initiate OCAPs and SOPs to support ongoing process and continuous improvement activities.
- Track lots through MES, including the generation of Test requests and wafer movement requests.
- Accurately record lot issues, actions taken, and outcomes to maintain concise and complete lot history.
- Ensure efficient movement of material and accurate loading of information within MES.
- Manage the storage and tracking of engineering material within the Test department.
- Ensure engineering materials can be easily located post-Test and are stored in a way that prevents damage.
- Work collaboratively with multiple departments to support Test reporting and issue resolution.
- Train colleagues and pass on technical knowledge and best practice where required.
- Expand responsibilities to include Golden wafer assessment, Gauge R&R activities, calibration testing, and associated reporting as required.
Candidates will ideally possess a technical qualification, or equivalent practical experience gained through relevant technical training within a manufacturing environment.
Skills and experience- Previous experience working as a Technical Processor or in a similar technical manufacturing role.
- Demonstrable experience using MES (manufacturing execution system) and material tracking systems would be advantageous.
- Strong ability to plan, monitor, and report on tool and process capability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments to support Test reporting.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to train colleagues and pass on technical knowledge and best practice.
- Knowledge and experience of Semiconductor Testing (desirable).
- Knowledge and experience of Laser processing (desirable).
