As we continue to expand into high-volume manufacturing to support our global customer base, we have an excellent opportunity for a Customer Quality Engineer to join the growing Pragmatic Semiconductor team. Reporting to the Compliance Director, this is a key role which will see you ensure customer satisfaction through proactive engagement, complaint resolution, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to implement robust processes and quality solutions that meet or exceed expectations. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders and will have the opportunity to have a critical impact on the business as we scale up our manufacturing and commercial operations.
We are looking for candidates with experience in a customer-facing Quality position, with excellent internal and stakeholder management skills (manufacturing experience in sectors like semiconductor/electronics would be highly desirable). This role is based at our manufacturing site, Pragmatic Park, with occasional travel required.
Key tasks
- Support the development and deployment of business processes and initiatives for successful customer project delivery, from pre-launch to high-volume manufacturing.
- Act as the primary interface for quality-related customer concerns, ensuring timely and effective communication and resolution.
- Drive customer-focused quality initiatives including product qualifications, failure analysis, metrics tracking, and complaint resolution.
- Provide detailed feedback and insights to internal operations teams to support continuous improvement.
- Coordinate quality investigations and implement immediate containment and corrective actions.
- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective measures and ensure sustainable improvement.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of quality metrics and corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with internal, customer, and industry standards.
Qualifications and training
Qualified Lead Auditor certifications would be beneficial but not essential, as well as familiarity with ISO standards and industry-specific customer requirements.
Skills and experience
- Customer quality experience from a high-volume manufacturing environment, ideally semiconductors/electronics.
- Proven experience of driving Quality improvements through an organisation.
- Proven track record of resolving complaints and working on customer projects.
- Demonstrable experience managing technical and commercial aspects of customer projects.
- Strong knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, including:
- Quality Planning (e.g., Process Flow, FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP).
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 8D Problem Solving, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Manufacturing process design, development, and production validation.
- Experienced in adhering to ISO 9001/ISO 14001 standards.
- Audit Skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally across departments.
- Excellent organisational and presentation skills.
- Strong administrative skills and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Proactive approach and attitude to problem-solving and overcoming challenges.
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
