As we continue to expand our intelligence capability, we are seeking experienced intelligence professionals with specialist language skills to join our growing organisation. This recruitment campaign is intended to identify experienced individuals who can contribute at a senior level across a range of intelligence roles. Successful applicants will be considered for positions that best align with their experience, expertise, and operational requirements, which may include senior research, intelligence analysis, project leadership, or people management responsibilities.

Applicants must demonstrate professional working proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Additional language capabilities are welcomed and will be considered alongside operational requirements.

The Opportunity

Successful candidates will join one of PCL's Intelligence Teams, supporting the production of high-quality open source intelligence across a range of regional and thematic portfolios. Depending upon your experience and the requirements of the business, your responsibilities may include:

  • Leading complex research projects
  • Producing intelligence assessments
  • Managing intelligence production
  • Mentoring colleagues
  • Supporting capability development
  • Contributing to the leadership of analytical teams

You will be expected to demonstrate sound analytical judgement, excellent written communication skills, and the ability to identify, assess, and interpret information from a broad range of sources to produce accurate and insightful intelligence products.

About You

You are an experienced intelligence professional with a minimum of 4–5 years' experience working within intelligence, security, defence, geopolitical risk, investigative research, journalism, government, or a related analytical environment. You have experience producing high-quality intelligence outputs and have progressed beyond purely conducting research. You may have led analytical projects, managed workstreams, supervised researchers or analysts, or held formal management responsibilities. Whatever your background, you are able to demonstrate sound analytical judgement, professionalism, and the ability to deliver intelligence that supports operational, strategic, or policy decision-making.

Your language capability enables you to identify, assess, translate, and interpret information from native-language sources, providing valuable insight into complex regional issues and strengthening the quality of intelligence products.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4–5 years' professional experience within intelligence, open-source intelligence (OSINT), security, defence, government, geopolitical risk, investigative research, journalism, or a comparable analytical environment.
  • Professional working proficiency in at least one of the aforementioned languages.
  • Excellent written English with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured intelligence reporting.
  • Demonstrable experience conducting structured intelligence research and producing analytical outputs.
  • Strong understanding of source evaluation, validation, and analytical methodologies.
  • Experience delivering intelligence products that support operational, strategic, or policy-focused decision making.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and sound professional judgement.
  • Experience leading analytical projects, coordinating intelligence production, mentoring colleagues, or managing teams.
  • Expertise relating to one or more geopolitical regions relevant to PCL's operational requirements.
  • Experience within government, defence, military, law enforcement, security, geopolitical risk consultancies, think tanks, journalism, or commercial intelligence organisations.
  • Familiarity with structured analytical techniques, geospatial products, or intelligence databases.
  • Additional foreign-language capability.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application. We are unable to sponsor visa applications for this role.
  • Hybrid working arrangement with three days per week required in our Central London office.
  • Staff may work remotely for 3-4 weeks during designated PCL remote working periods in the summer and Christmas periods. Working from abroad is not permitted.
