Skillset Required:
- Recent experience designing and delivering hybrid-cloud platforms and services, automated API-driven systems with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and agile delivery models.
- Able to follow and iteratively improve domain-owned services as GCP and other cloud-based products mature and develop new features where other emerging technologies present an opportunity.
- Ability to work with a team of engineers to deliver domain-owned deliverables and dependencies.
- Continuous curiosity to learn and develop themselves with industry best practice methods and tooling in the cloud function.
- Technology agnostic and willing to adapt their approach in pursuit of the best solution.
- Significant experience of DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines using cloud native and third-party tooling – Git, Terraform Cloud, HashiCorp Vault, Harness, Jenkins.
- Experience in Python/Shell Scripting.
- Manage incidents and problems to resolve (and advance) enterprise networking connectivity issues.
- Review and feedback on code changes for fellow team members.
- Perform all engineering tasks in compliance with the Control and Security requirements.

Our Cloud Engineering team is looking for an experienced and passionate Cloud Engineer with strong hands-on development experience. As a Cloud Engineer, you’ll be an active and leading member of a cloud-focused team of engineers – working on one of the Group’s flagship projects to deliver a strategic platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) that will enable the business to realise the next generation of services that form the Bank’s vision for 2020 and beyond!
Responsibilities:
- Shaping GCP and Cloud-technology roadmaps.
- Finding opportunities & use-cases for new features and cloud-based products.
- Collaboratively working with the business and other engineering teams to design, then build and release.
- Appreciation for implications of operating in an enterprise environment.
- Ensuring released services are resilient and optimised for cost and scalability.
