About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Telecom Data Solution Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, the core responsibility will be leading the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure data solutions on AWS for our telecommunications clients. Leverage your deep understanding of AWS services, data architecture, and telecom-specific data challenges to enable advanced analytics, AI/ML initiatives, and efficient data management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecting Data Solutions: Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines, data lakes, data lake house, and analytics platforms on AWS tailored for telecom use cases (e.g., network performance, customer churn, service assurance, billing data).
  • AWS Service Expertise: Architect solutions utilizing a wide range of AWS data services, including but not limited to:
  • Storage: S3, EBS, EFS, Glacier
  • Databases: RDS (Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL), DynamoDB, Redshift, DocumentDB, Neptune
  • Analytics & Big Data: EMR, Glue, Athena, Kinesis, Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK), QuickSight, Lake Formation
  • Machine Learning: SageMaker, Polly, Lex, Bedrock AI
  • Integration & Messaging: SQS, SNS, Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway
  • Networking & Security: VPC, Route 53, IAM, WAF, Security Hub
  • Telecom Domain Knowledge: Apply a strong understanding of telecom network architectures, knowledge of RAN, Core, Transmission data types is a must, network performance counters, configuration management & fault management knowledge, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, data retention policies).
  • Data Ingestion & Transformation: Design and implement efficient strategies for ingesting large volumes of diverse telecom data from various sources (on-premises, network devices, third-party systems) into AWS, and transforming it for analysis.
  • Performance Optimization & Cost Management: Optimize AWS data solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency, ensuring adherence to the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure all data solutions adhere to stringent security best practices and compliance requirements relevant to the telecommunications industry.
  • Technical Leadership & Guidance: Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to development teams, data engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and other architects to translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable cloud solutions.
  • MVP / (POC) Development: Develop and present proof-of-concept solutions to validate architectural approaches and showcase the value of proposed solutions.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a significant focus on data solutions. 7+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions on AWS. Demonstrable experience working within the telecommunications industry, with a strong understanding of telecom data and business processes. Proven experience with large-scale data ingestion, processing, and analytics.
