We are looking for a hands-on, experienced Power BI Consultant with strong end-to-end production reporting experience. The role requires deep expertise in Power Query (M), DAX, data modelling, and report UX/design, along with a solid understanding of Microsoft Fabric and its integration with Power BI. The successful candidate will not only build high-quality reports but also promote best practices, document deliverables, and coach analysts/developers across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver end-to-end Power BI reports from data preparation through to polished, production-ready dashboards.
- Build clean, performant semantic models using Power Query and best-practice DAX.
- Apply strong data-visualisation and UX principles to create intuitive, visually consistent reports.
- Ensure performance optimisation and scalability of Power BI solutions.
- Work effectively with Microsoft Fabric components (e.g., Lakehouse, Dataflows, semantic models) as data sources.
- Produce clear, concise documentation covering datasets, measures, models, and reports.
- Promote Power BI best practices across modelling, DAX, and report design.
- Coach and upskill analysts and developers, providing guidance and quality assurance.
Core Experience (Must-Have)
- Proven end-to-end Power BI report development experience in production environments.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Power Query (M) for data shaping and transformation.
- Advanced DAX skills with clean, maintainable, best-practice code.
- Excellent visual design and UX capability; strong understanding of data-visualisation best practices.
- Microsoft Fabric awareness and understanding of how Power BI integrates with Fabric components.
- Strong documentation discipline for datasets, measures, and reports.
