The Opportunity: Driving Value Through Global Integration

Join a leading global specialty pharmaceutical business driven by a profound commitment to delivering life-changing value to patients with unmet medical needs. Within this pioneering organisation, our Buckinghamshire-based EMEA IT team operates with the agility and pace of a greenfield venture, backed by the mandate and resources of a major international enterprise. We are looking for an expert, proactive, and highly adaptable Business Change Programme Lead to spearhead a critical, transatlantic IT decommissioning and outsourcing programme. This is a high-visibility, senior-level assignment where you will act as a true partner to the business, safeguarding critical institutional knowledge and defining the future of our global service delivery.

The Impact You’ll Make

This mission involves the comprehensive decommissioning of the IT function of a pharmaceutical subsidiary and the subsequent transfer of all IT assets, knowledge, and operations to the EMEA region. Your primary focus will be Urgent Knowledge Transfer. Your immediate arrival will be pivotal in mitigating knowledge loss. Key milestones you will take ownership of include:

  • Comprehensive KT Plans: Rapidly capturing, documenting, and prioritising critical expertise from US team members before they exit the business.
  • Service Definition & Design: Specifically defining the 'To-Be' service state, creating well-defined service descriptions, and drafting Runbooks for the EMEA IT delivery team.
  • Strategic Outsourcing: Managing the seamless transition of knowledge from the established internal team into a new third-party service provider model.
  • Operational Frameworks: Establishing robust RACI charts, Cutover Plans, and Exit/Acceptance Criteria to ensure minimal impact on the wider patient-centric organisation.

The Technical Ecosystem & Toolkit

While this is a business change and transition leadership role, you will possess the technical literacy required to navigate a broad, hybrid infrastructure. You will oversee knowledge transfer across a wide variety of IT service domains:

  • Infrastructure & Operations: Cloud, Security, Networks, and Endpoints.
  • Support Services: Helpdesk and Operations management frameworks.
  • Applications & Architecture: Enterprise architecture, integration, and portfolio management.
  • Specialised Platforms: Facilitating deep-dive knowledge transfer across ERP (NetSuite), HRIS (Sage), and Veeva suites (RIM, Quality Docs, MedInfo, Promomats).

The Profile:

We aren’t looking for a rigid specialist. We want a senior consultant with 10 to 15 years of experience who balances sharp technical fluency with exceptional business change capabilities.

  • Sector Expertise: You bring a strong, proven background within the Pharma, Biotech, or Cell and Gene Therapy sectors.
  • Project Leadership: You hold a PRINCE2 or PMP certification, alongside a demonstrable track record of delivering large-scale IT outsourcing and complex cross-border transition projects.
  • Mindset: You are autonomous, action-oriented, and highly consultative. You thrive in a 'high trust' environment, working closely with a collaborative Head of IT who values a 'get things done' attitude.
