This pivotal role will support a major change programme within a South West Acute NHS Trust as it prepares for a significant organisational change. This is a highly impactful position focused on strategic cultural integration and large-scale transformation, rather than traditional HR process management. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior leadership within a large division, guiding them through cultural integration, workforce planning and organisational restructuring while ensuring staff remain engaged, informed and supported throughout the change journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic OD initiatives that embed sustainable cultural transformation, strengthen leadership capability and support organisational effectiveness during a period of significant change.
- Partner with senior leaders to translate complex change challenges into clear workforce priorities, providing expert advice, constructive challenge and people-centred solutions that balance pace of transformation with staff wellbeing.
- Design and deliver change and engagement programmes that support new ways of working, structural redesign and service integration, ensuring colleagues feel informed, involved and able to shape decisions.
- Foster a culture of kindness, respect and psychological safety, helping leaders to build high-performing teams, surface issues early and manage the integration of differing cultures effectively.
- Use workforce data, diagnostics and staff insight to identify cultural hotspots, inform improvement plans and support strategic decision making.
- Support future workforce planning by identifying skills gaps, capability needs and talent priorities, developing approaches that build resilience and ensure the workforce is equipped for current and emerging organisational needs.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in large-scale Organisational Development within the NHS or similarly complex, highly regulated environments.
- Demonstrated gravitas and strategic vision, enabling effective collaboration as a peer to senior leadership.
- A strong commitment to fostering a culture of kindness and respect.
Contract Details:
- Duration: 12 months (fixed-term contract)
- Location: A strong on-site presence is essential; remote work is not an option.
- Remuneration: Band 8C to 8D, dependant on experience. Part time is also possible.
Recruitment Process:
We welcome CV's by Thursday 28th May, for interview early June. All candidates will undergo thorough referencing and require a valid DBS check in line with NHS hiring practice.
