Financial Accountant – Fixed Term Contract (12 Months)

Are you a qualified accountant ready to take the next step in your finance career?

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to play a key role in statutory reporting, tax compliance, and financial control for a university.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements (FRS102 & FE HE SORP)
• Lead on audits and statutory returns
• Oversee VAT and corporation tax compliance
• Manage the fixed asset register and reconciliations
• Line‑manage and support the development of an Assistant Accountant
• Contribute to improving systems, processes, and reporting quality

About You

You are a fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant with strong experience in financial reporting and a sound understanding of UK accounting standards and VAT principles. You are analytical, detail‑focused, and able to explain financial concepts clearly to non‑finance colleagues.
