The Opportunity: This is a newly created, pivotal leadership role. You will be designing the "irrigation system", the overarching strategy that allows our diverse income streams to flourish. Your focus is leadership over ego. We aren’t looking for a solo flyer. We need a mentor and coach who can empower a dedicated team of specialists across Philanthropy, Membership, Trusts, and Corporate Engagement.
Your Strategic Priorities:
- Scale High-Level Giving: Move the needle on our major gift programme.
- Digital Evolution: Lead the charge in converting significant social media engagement into sustained conservation capital.
- Impactful Storytelling: Act as a senior advisor, translating complex conservation science into compelling narratives for donors and internal stakeholders.
- Empathetic Leadership: Manage and inspire a team of six direct reports, fostering an inclusive environment during an exciting period of growth.
The Ideal Profile: You are a proven fundraising leader with a track record of generating significant income and a deep understanding of the modern philanthropic landscape. We want your strategic expertise.
- A Strategic Mentor: who finds joy in developing talent and high‑performing teams.
- Decisive but Collaborative: valuing feedback and evidence‑based strategies.
- A Compelling Communicator: capable of engaging the "already interested" while winning over the "unconverted."
- A strategic leader with a track record of managing high‑performing teams and a deep knowledge of the fundraising landscape, preferably within a membership environment.
Reward Package:
- Exceptional Leave: 36 days to start (incl. bank holidays), rising to 41 days after three years.
- True Flexibility: A 35‑hour working week with hybrid arrangements and flexible hours.
- Wellbeing First: Your birthday off, dedicated "Balance Days" to recharge, and a weekly "Golden Hour" for personal wellbeing.
- Financial Security: 7% employer pension contribution and 3× salary life assurance.
- Growth: Access to a bespoke development programme, professional coaching, and mentoring.
Are You Ready to Lead the Charge? If you are ready to use your strategic expertise to protect local wildlife and create a "wilder" future for generations to come, we would love to start a confidential conversation.
