We are supporting the search for an experienced Assistant Logistics & Distribution Manager to join a well-established pharmaceutical organisation on a 12-month FTC. This role has been created to provide senior-level support within a lean, high-performing logistics team - and for an exceptional performer, there is potential for longer-term opportunity.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Distribution & Logistics Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the end-to-end logistics and distribution of pharmaceutical products across Europe. This is a hands-on operational logistics role - not a planning position. You will be deeply involved in transport, 3PL management, customs compliance, warehousing oversight, and distribution performance. You’ll join a collaborative team and act as a senior support to the manager, bringing experience, structure, and confidence to day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end inbound and outbound transport logistics across Europe
- Manage customs and international trade compliance activities
- Oversee 3PL providers, warehousing, and secondary distribution
- Monitor logistics KPIs and performance metrics
- Support logistics budget tracking and cost control
- Ensure full compliance with GDP/GMP and regulatory requirements
- Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Finance, Quality, and Compliance teams
- Contribute to S&OP alignment with commercial operations
- Drive continuous improvement across efficiency, compliance, and cost performance
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical logistics
- Strong hands-on experience managing 3PL providers
- Solid understanding of customs and international trade compliance
- Experience with warehousing and distribution operations
- Familiarity with ERP and compliance systems
- Detail-oriented, organised, and commercially aware
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, “sleeves rolled up” mindset
