Working directly with executive leadership, you will take ownership of the entire participant journey—from attraction and enrolment through to engagement and retention. You'll play a central role in shaping strategy, improving performance, and driving operational excellence across a critical function.
The Opportunity
As Director of Clinical Trial Recruitment, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of 15–20 professionals and drive strategic initiatives that support ambitious growth plans across early-phase and advanced clinical research programmes. This role combines operational leadership, digital transformation, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for an individual who thrives on delivering measurable change within a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long‑term participant recruitment and engagement strategies.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of 15–20 professionals, including senior managers.
- Drive performance against recruitment targets, timelines, budgets, and quality metrics.
- Support a major systems transformation programme, including CRM implementation.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, standardisation, and process optimisation.
- Develop innovative recruitment approaches for complex therapeutic areas, including rare diseases and advanced therapies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, governance, and data privacy requirements.
- Partner closely with executive leadership to shape organisational strategy and future growth.
About You
We are seeking a confident, resilient, and highly credible leader with a proven track record of delivering results within a CRO environment.
- Significant senior leadership experience within a CRO setting.
- Proven success managing senior leaders and large operational teams.
- Strong expertise in participant recruitment, engagement, and retention.
- Experience leading technology, CRM, or operational transformation projects.
- A strong understanding of population sciences, NHS engagement, GDPR, and PECR requirements.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- The ability to thrive in a high‑performance, delivery‑focused environment.
