We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist to join our primary care team at HMP Altcourse, a category B remand prison located in Fazakerley, Liverpool. HMP Altcourse houses around 1,164 patients aged 18+ and is one of the busiest remand prisons in England. Within this role, you would be joining an experienced and well-staffed Pharmacy Team, where your role would primarily focus on dispensing, clinical screening, structured medication, and delivering services including vaccination, pain management, minor ailment, and substance misuse services.
Hours: Monday to Friday 7am-4pm
Salary: This full-time role offers an annual salary of between £49,848 and £59,941 per annum depending on experience.

What you'll be doing:
As the Clinical Pharmacist, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
- Ensure the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service
- Provide expert advice on pharmaceutical matters and ensure a safe and modern medicines management service
- Lead a team of Pharmacy technicians

Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered Pharmacist - holding registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Vocational Master’s Degree in Pharmacy including pre-registration training
- Relevant post qualification
- Although not essential, this would ideally suit an applicant with at least 1 year’s experience in a hospital setting.
