We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our healthcare teams at HMP Five Wells, a Category C Prison located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. The site supports around 1,800 patients, the majority of whom are aged between 30-39. The site also has a cohort of elderly patients who will need support with long‑term conditions, so this role would suit a GP who enjoys delivering end‑to‑end care. HMP Five Wells is a state‑of‑the‑art prison offering a modern clinical environment and facilities.
You will be working closely with a large multi‑disciplinary team, as well as with another General Practitioner. Hours are Monday to Friday: 8:30 am – 5 pm. This is a part‑time role working 8 hours, or one day a week. We can offer flexibility on which day is worked.
Salary: You’ll receive an annual salary up to £129,500 per annum FTE – depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver first‑class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and, as a GP at Practice Plus Group, you will have the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t normally encounter within a general practice or even A&E environment.
- Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients’ requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
- Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, and have patients you work with an active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
