Job OverviewDue to the recent recategorisation to a Category B Remand Prison, we have an exciting opportunity for an Unscheduled Care Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP Brixton. HMP Brixton is now a Category B male prison since April 2025 housing men on remand. Our patients\â needs will vary greatly, but there will be a focus on mental health, substance misuse and early days in custody.
Hours & SalaryHours: 37.5 hours per week, 08:00-16:00 Monday-Friday.
Salary: Up to ÂŁ63,119 depending on experience.

Responsibilities
Provide leadership and line management for those within the Unscheduled Care team.
Provide outstanding evidenceâbased care to our patients by seeking out, listening to and acting on feedback so that patient engagement is at the centre of service delivery.
Provide dayâtoâday operational service delivery and data with integrity, in a timely manner to meet commissioner expectations.
Deliver excellence in all areas: deliver nonâjudgemental, compassionate care within the prison that is safe, high quality and in line with CQC requirements, through adherence to policies and statutory responsibilities while driving excellence.
Promote best practice in unscheduled care, triage and emergency response.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree or appropriate equivalent level of experience or clinical qualification.
Experience leading multiâdisciplinary teams.
Experience of working in CQC or equivalent registered services such as HMIP.
Experience of client management or meeting commissioner expectations.
Experience developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Understanding of clinical governance.
Must have current UK professional registration.
Candidates must have legal right to work in the UK; subject to additional vetting and security checks.
