Are you organised, detail-focused and looking to build a rewarding career in healthcare? We're looking for a Trainee Dispensing Assistant to join our pharmacy team at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Emersons Green.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and develop within a busy hospital pharmacy environment. You'll receive training and support while gaining hands‑on experience in the ordering, dispensing and management of medicines, helping to ensure patients receive the highest standard of care.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting the dispensing and labelling of prescriptions in line with pharmacy procedures.
- Maintaining accurate patient medication records using pharmacy systems.
- Ordering, receiving and managing pharmacy stock.
- Carrying out stock checks and ensuring medicines are stored safely and appropriately.
- Distributing medicines and stock to clinical departments across hospital sites.
- Working closely with pharmacists, nursing staff, doctors and wider clinical teams.
- Participating in audits, training activities and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Completing the Dispensing Assistant training programme and developing your pharmacy knowledge and skills.
What we’ll look for in you
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
- Good IT and keyboard skills.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Experience working as part of a team.
