We're looking for an exceptional Theatre Manager to provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership across our Theatre, Recovery, Endoscopy, Ophthalmology and PACU services. As Theatre Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Nursing and Clinical Services Manager, consultants and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care while driving service excellence, staff development and operational performance.
What you'll be doing
- Providing clinical and professional leadership across theatre services, recovery, endoscopy, ophthalmology and PACU.
- Managing departmental operations, workforce planning, budgets and resources to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service delivery.
- Leading, motivating and developing multidisciplinary teams to achieve outstanding patient outcomes.
- Driving service improvement, innovation and efficiency across surgical pathways.
- Ensuring compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, governance requirements and national best practice guidance.
- Leading recruitment, performance management, appraisals and staff development initiatives.
- Managing incident investigations, quality audits and governance reporting.
- Building strong relationships with consultants, anaesthetists and senior stakeholders to maximise theatre utilisation and operational performance.
What we’ll look for in you
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Current registration with the NMC or HCPC.
- A minimum of 6 years' experience within acute or elective surgical services.
- At least 2 years' management experience with a proven ability to lead teams and influence change.
- Strong clinical knowledge across perioperative care and surgical services.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and leadership capability.
- Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience of governance, audit, quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
