Due to the increase in treatments and care we give to our patients, we have new permanent opportunities for Healthcare Assistant’s to join our Theatres team based at our Southampton hospital.
What would you say are the primary responsibilities of a Healthcare Assistant working in a Theatre environment?

Would you like the chance to play your role as part of a committed and focused team?
You\’ll be working three days per week from 07:30 to 17:30 and one day a week from 07:30-17:00. This will include one Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Assist members of the theatre department and set up theatres for patients’ treatments, depending on each case.
- Investigate patient pathways and keep patient information up‑to‑date, ensuring consent is obtained before any treatment.
- Ensure a smooth patient journey by following and documenting the complete patient pathway.
- Ensure patients are prepared, have all necessary checks conducted before and during procedures and provide routine monitoring.
- Accurately update patient records and document the patient pathway.
- Maintain health, safety and hygiene in the theatre, monitor for hazards and report any issues to the Ward Manager.
Qualifications
- Past experience working in a care home, hospital or clinical environment is desirable.
- Completion of NVQ Level 1 & 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to converse at all levels.
- Computer literate, confident with MS Office tools and quick to learn new systems.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
