We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join the team at HMP Full Sutton, a Category A high security prison located in Pocklington. HMP Full Sutton has a capacity of around 600 men, and houses those serving long term sentences. Join the Recovery Team and empower those who wish to make changes in their behaviour to promote health and well-being through recovery from drugs and alcohol. This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care.

Hours

This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shifts are 8am‑4pm / 9am‑5pm.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary of up to £33,510 dependent on experience.

What you’ll be doing

As our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

  • Delivering outstanding care to psychosocial patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback — ensuring that their care is personalised and tailored to the individual
  • Manage a caseload of patients with varying needs, including substance misuse, mental health, trauma, etc.
  • Work on a 1‑1 basis with patients, carrying out assessments
  • Deliver group sessions on overdose awareness, harm reduction, etc.
  • Providing a programme of psychosocial interventions and comprehensive assessments
  • Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cessation, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices
