Overview
Substance Misuse Nurse – Non-Medical Prescriber. We are recruiting for our Primary Care team at HMP Brixton following recategorisation to a Category B Remand Prison.
HMP Brixton is now a Category B male prison since April 2025, housing men on remand. Our patients’ needs will vary, with a focus on mental health, substance misuse and early days in custody.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care within the Primary Care team, focusing on mental health and substance misuse needs in a prison setting.
- Work as a Non-Medical Prescriber as part of delivering safe, effective patient care.
- Collaborate with the wider team to support patient health and well-being in early custody.
Hours
Full time, 30 hours per week – Monday to Friday
Salary
From £54,000 to £58,000 per annum FTE (equivalent to £43,200 to £46,400 per annum pro rata) depending on experience
