About the Role

Working as part of a four‑strong reception team to act as the first point of contact for all patients and visitors entering the hospital, ensuring all communications are conducted in a professional and courteous manner to support a patient‑cent专业istic approach.

Part‑time: 2 days (15 hours) per week on rotation with an additional 2 Saturdays to be worked each month.

Hours: 6 am‑2 pm / 8 am‑4 pm / 1 pm‑9 pm. Max. 2 Saturdays a month (4‑hour shifts) between 6 am‑6 pm.

What you’ll be doing

  • Help support the reception service to patients, staff and visitors, meeting and greeting all arrivals in a professional and customer/patient‑centred approach in line with Practice Plus Group standards.
  • Answer telephone calls from patients, GP surgeries and other hospital staff on general queries.
  • Use the computer system to record patient attendance within the hospital.
  • Process patient discharge summaries and update the clinical system.
  • Contact patients with their attendance time for cataract surgery.
  • Maintain the \”Did Not Attend\” register and inform patients of the process.
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed.
  • Process daily mail – incoming and outgoing.
  • Maintain the car parking pass allocation register.
  • Provide help to the admin function when required.
  • Be flexible to work shift patterns, including evenings and weekend working to cover for colleagues.

  • Satisfactory Occupational Health Clearance for the role specified.
  • Satisfactory relevant CRB clearance.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Literate and numerate.
  • Good након command of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent telephone technique.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations in a calm manner.
  • Good keyboard/computer skills.
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office packages.
