We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician (Part‑time) to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Wealstun, a category C Prison located near Wetherby, Yorkshire. HMP Wealstun is a male prison that focuses on training and education. The pharmacy has its own dispensary and consists of a full team of around 15 staff, both permanent and bank.
Job Summary
Hours: 23.5 hours: 2 9.5‑hour days and 1 4.5‑hour day OR a 19/23‑hour week
Salary: This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £41,658 per annum FTE – depending on experience.

Main Duties
- Ensure patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensure standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
- Ensure timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique Health in Justice medicines policy.
- Work together to make a difference to all the people we support, and make Practice Plus Group a place where each of us feels appreciated, challenged and supported to do our best work fulfilling the lives of others.
- Communicate complex or sensitive information whilst demonstrating empathy and understanding to patients.
- Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines optimisation, drug regimes, medicines legislation and general health education so that the multidisciplinary healthcare team are appropriately informed.

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Relevant post‑qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.
- Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
