We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Bullingdon, a category B Prison located in Oxfordshire. HMP Bullingdon is a busy male prison with a capacity for around 1100 inmates. This role involves supporting the pharmacy team with dispensing, labeling, date checking, assisting colleagues with queries, stock checking, and occasional patient-facing duties.

Hours
Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30. No weekends, no bank holidays.

Salary
This position is full time, with an annual salary up to £29,723 FTE, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Complete general dispensary duties and stock management.
  • Work as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service.
  • Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings.
  • Receive prescriptions and manage returns from wing-based clinical areas.
  • Collect orders from suppliers at the Main Gate and arrange collection of returns.
  • Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills.
  • Medicines handling experience desirable, not essential.
  • Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy.
  • Ability to work within a busy environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures.
