We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP and YOI Werrington, a young offenders prison located in Stoke-on-Trent. HMP YOI Werrington is a young offenders prison for age 15-18 offenders which has a capacity of 100 inmates. Child and adult nurse applications are welcomed.
Hours: Shift patterns between Monday-Sunday 2045pm-0745am
Salary: £24.79 an hour

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What you’ll be doing:
- Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
- Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received.
- Promote safe patient care.
- Develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required:
- Registered Nurse
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills and IT literacy
- Ability to work within a busy environment
- Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
- Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
