We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Hewell, a category B Prison located in Redditch, Worcestershire. In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed. The site currently offers a 24-hour service, across 7 days per week. You will be expected to work a mixture of days and night shifts as well as every other weekend and bank holidays.

Day shift: 07:00 - 18:15
Night shift: 07:30 - 07:15

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £33,000 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Primary Care Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
  • Deliver non-judgemental care
  • Build strong links with our partners and stakeholders

Qualifications required

  • Registered nurse - Adult
  • Current professional qualification (NMC)
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
  • Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
