As an ACP within the Pre-Operative Assessment Service, you will work autonomously whilst collaborating closely with Consultant Anaesthetists, our Physician Associate and Nursing Team. You will use advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose and optimise patients ahead of elective procedures, ensuring they are appropriately prepared for surgery and supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality perioperative care.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary.
  • 25 days annual leave (increasing with service) plus bank holidays.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
  • Blue Light Card discount scheme.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Free parking.
  • Staff food and beverage discounts.
  • Ongoing professional development and support for continuing education.

  • A supportive and collaborative working environment where innovation and improvement are encouraged.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ACP to make a real difference to patient outcomes, influence service development, and play a key role in delivering high-quality pre assessment and perioperative care.

Closing date Friday 30th October 2026 and interviews will be held on Monday, 09th November 2026.

What you'll be doing

  • Undertaking advanced clinical assessments and making autonomous decisions regarding patients' fitness for surgery.
  • Requesting, interpreting, and acting upon diagnostic investigations to support patient optimisation.
  • Developing and implementing individualised care plans to reduce perioperative risk and improve patient outcomes.
  • Working as a key member of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient surgical pathways.
  • Providing expert advice and education to patients regarding surgical preparation, perioperative risks, and recovery expectations.
  • Working as an Independent Non-Medical Prescriber within your scope of practice, prescribing medications required within the pre-operative pathway.
  • Leading and supporting quality improvement initiatives through audit, data analysis, and patient feedback.
  • Supporting the development of evidence-based practice, clinical guidelines, and service improvements.
  • Providing teaching, mentoring, coaching, and clinical supervision to colleagues across the perioperative pathway.

What we’ll look for in you

  • A Registered Nurse / AHP with current professional registration
  • A Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice (MSc ACP)
  • An Independent Prescribing Qualification (V300) with evidence of prescribing within scope of practice.
  • Significant experience working within an acute, perioperative, or primary care setting.

  • A proactive and patient-focused approach to care delivery.
  • Experience in quality improvement, audit, and service development activities.
  • A commitment to maintaining professional development and advancing clinical practice.
  • The ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
