We are looking for a patient services assistant to join Practice Plus Group where you will be responsible for resolving all patient queries to a high satisfaction. You will provide advice and guidance for patients on our services, whilst booking appointments and covering Reception duties. You will ensure the patient is at the heart of everything you do. You will be based in our Admin Office in Rochdale but also will cover our North West Receptions when required. The role may be face to face or via the telephone, with the job holder being courteous and professional at all times. The role demands great attention to detail and the ability to resolve queries at the first opportunity, striving for excellence and a willingness to continuously improve to deliver the highest standards required to support the Ophthalmology service.
Location: Rochdale and adhoc cover in our North West Reception Sites.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Mon - Fri. Shift times: Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm.
What you’ll be doing:
- You’ll act as first point of contact for patient enquiries and action accordingly whether via the telephone, in writing or face to face, always aiming to resolve queries fully at the first opportunity.
- With experience in accurate electronic record keeping and complaint resolution, you’ll work collaboratively with clinical and patient services staff to deliver the high standard of service required by our patients.
- Booking face to face and telephone appointments, including 1st appointments and follow ups.
- You’ll liaise with NHS providers regarding the management of onward patient referrals.
- You will communicate with the Patient Services Coordinator to ensure that clinics are scheduled effectively, patients are allocated efficiently and that theatre and clinic capacity is optimised.
- Covering Reception teams absences at our North West Clinics. Please note there will be times that you will need to cover at short notice.
What we’ll look for in you:
- You will be an experienced Administrator with a flexible approach to the role.
- Driving License and own vehicle.
- Previous administration experience in a similar setting.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of IT and software packages (Word/Excel).
- Excellent Communication skills (Written, Face to Face and Phone).
- Ability to prioritise and work on own initiative.
